Last week in Newton, we brought together district leaders from across Massachusetts for a focused roundtable on special education: Creating Lasting Impact with Intentional Strategy.
This wasn’t a typical presentation. It was a working session where leaders reflected on real challenges and learned directly from one another.
Superintendent Jay Lang of Chelmsford Public Schools shared how the district partnered with DMG to closely examine staff time in special education, clarifying the role of paraprofessionals, bringing greater consistency to time use, and strengthening collaboration between teachers and support staff.
Superintendent Joe Sawyer of Shrewsbury Public Schools highlighted how the district worked with DMG to communicate the growing needs of students to their community, while grounding those conversations in long-term financial sustainability.
Leaders engaged in practical activities designed to translate ideas into action, leaving with tangible strategies they can apply immediately.
We appreciate all who attended and contributed to a thoughtful, forward-moving conversation.
